Here comes the snow

Snow homeThe Met Office have issued a Level 3 severe weather warning (one below a national emergency) from Sunday through to Thursday this week. They say that a brisk northeasterly wind will bring a cold spell of weather with a “bitterly cold feel”.

Snow is expected in the North and West, spreading down and across the country to the South East as the week progresses. It’s expected that most of the country will be hit with snow by Tuesday, with most areas being hit Sunday evening or Monday.

The biggest danger is likely to be when the snow freezes, temperatures are due to drop as low as -9C in some areas by Monday.

Of course the immediate effects of the cold weather is often the least of online seller’s problems, it’s when deliveries start to be delayed that the business issues really start.

Tracking in eBay emailsGet ready to step up communications with buyers and if you ship items by a tracked service make sure that you enter the tracking numbers into eBay. If you do then eBay emails the tracking numbers to buyers with a link so that they can check the status of the delivery themselves.

Whilst we hope that the weather disruption is minimal, in reality it’s expected to be snowy in many parts of the country until the end of the week so get set for the cold.
