Rob an account manager from iwoca decided to share a typical working day with the world, it’s an interesting insight as to how the employed people live!
6.40 am start with a 12 mile cycle ride to the gym and then on to iwoca HQ to find the marketing team already hard at work at 8am. I have to admit Rob’s fitness regime would kill me, let alone getting up at 6am every morning! Rob declined to share what the marketing team are working on, but hopefully it includes more meetups – Tamebay highly approves of “working” in the pub.
By 9am the phones are ringing and Rob’s busy processing loan applications interrupted by a meeting with the Marketing team to discuss the profile of our clients. iwoca’s clients come in all shapes and sizes! £10k to £2m annual sales..
Rob’s enjoying hearing about so many great ideas and the hot products on eBay & Amazon – “A real buzz to hear such entrepreneurial spirit alive and well. If there’s one part of Rob’s job that I’d enjoy it would be speaking to sellers and hearing their success stories.
By lunchtime Rob’s hungry (I’m not surprised after early morning bike ride and trip to the gym). It’s kebabs on the menu for the iwoca Team lunch today.
After lunch Rob saw a tidy £15k loan through for a promising young business. “Great client, knowledgeable with a detailed plan. Happy to help!” A well thought out business plan isn’t something the typical eBay seller has, do you have one?
Lots of talk at lunch about the Tamebay Ecommerce Cup football tournament. Rob is hoping Sir Alex is jumping ship to manage iwoca FC. Rob reckons that Sir Alex would be right at home as iwoca should be good at football. Based in London but they have German, Spanish and Italian employees so hopefully they will bring some flair to Wembley.
By late afternoon Rob’s processed another loan for a long standing client and says it’s “Brilliant to track the growth over the months”. He uses the last few hours left in the day to call and catchup with existing clients and has new iwoca partners to introduce.
By 6pm Rob reckons he’s had a productive day, helped a number of entrepreneurs to put their plans in to action and is dashing home to watch the big match!!
Next morning Rob has one more tweet to share, he’s just discovered that @iwoca is not even following him on Twitter. I bet they are now!
