A bunch of senior citizens have topped the Amazon singles chart with their charity song “See Yourself“, by the “Anchor Community Band”.
As part of a new “Grey Pride” project to keep older people on the agenda, the charity single that celebrates the positive aspects of ageing and challenges stereotypes and misconceptions in a fun and inclusive way. Anchor worked with people over the age of 60 to write the words of a song that was recorded by over 350 older people living in their care homes and retirement housing properties across England, known collectively as The Anchor Community Band.
All the money raised from sales of the single will go towards Contact the Elderly, a national charity which aims to combat loneliness and isolation faced by older people who live alone.
