Ecommerce platform Bigcommerce and Stripe have announced a new UK partnership and the integration of Stripe’s Connect platform with the Bigcommerce product enabling sellers to take card payments in a matter of minutes. And I must say it looks pretty interesting.
When Bigcommerce users enable payments with Stripe, customers will enter card details directly on the merchant’s site, and won’t be redirected to an offsite checkout page. Stripe takes care of the rest, transferring payments directly to users’ bank accounts. Stripe’s is currently — 2.4% + 20p per transaction + VAT for each successful transaction, with volume discounts available. UK users can charge in USD, GBP and EUR immediately from a single Stripe account.
“Our focus is to help growing businesses expand their sales online and Stripe makes it dead simple for them to accept card payments,” said Mitchell Harper, CEO at Bigcommerce. “Combined with our simple onboarding wizard to get your store up and running, Stripe now makes it possible for new Bigcommerce merchants in the UK to get a beautiful online store live and transacting in under 30 minutes.”
“Bigcommerce has enabled tens of thousands of businesses to sell online,” said John Collison, co-founder and president at Stripe. “It’s easy to see why — it’s a very elegant product. We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with them to make it even easier for UK-based businesses to be part of the online economy.”
