eBay Enterprise has announced it will open a new European fulfilment centre in Germany in the second quarter of 2015. The significant multi-million dollar investment is notable and suggests eBay Enterprise has enjoyed success since its inception. The company claims it has made double-digit growth in the past year.
The new 280,000sq ft facility will be located in the Halle district north of Leipzig and will provide more than 70 carriers and 350 service options to expedite easy cross-border shipping throughout Europe.
“Fulfilment remains the lynchpin of a successful omnichannel operation and this new German facility allows us to support our clients’ local and pan-European fulfilment needs,” said Michael Kliger, vice president international, eBay Enterprise. “We are committed to providing European brands and retailers a localised fulfilment and shipping solution that can offer the scale, reliability, and cost efficiencies they demand for their digital operations on a global level.”
eBay Enterprise has recently opened an office in Barcelona and claims it is also the leader in local commerce enabling store-based fulfilment in more than 5,500 stores for 42 brands, 29 retailers and across 15 countries in three continents with expectations to reach 6,000 stores by the end of 2014. Clients include Achica, Finlux, Peak Performance, and Tiger of Sweden.
