Snapchat adds Snapcash powered by Square

You can now send cash via Snapchat using Snapcash. It’s an instant mobile payments system powered by Square.

Square is a US mobile payments system and a PayPal competitor.

I’m frankly just rather amused by the song and dance video advert they’ve created. It’s hilarious and I do like the hint of the Emerald City kitsch.

It’s less obvious as to whether such an ad will appeal to the kids, teens and young adults who use Snapchat (Actually now I think of it, I don’t really know what SnapChat is.) but it makes a darn change from the usual cruddy and dull videos we get from payments firms.
