Snapchat break 800m monthly active user ceiling

Snapchat have hit an amazing milestone – they have surpassed 800 million monthly active users! And these users are pretty regular visitors as their latest investor results report 414 million daily active users, an increase of 39 million, or 10%, year-over-year. Daily active users have increased sequentially and year-over-year on both iOS and Android platforms.

From the beginning, Snapchat was built as an alternative to social media for their community to communicate with friends and family, express themselves, and have fun together.  Over the years, they have prioritised doing what’s right for the community and stayed true to our values. We’ve continued to focus on helping Snapchatters foster connections with friends and family, rather than building mass networks of people they barely know.

Snapchat went on to say that these connections have been shown to make people happier — Snapchatters report higher satisfaction with the quality of friendships and relationships with family than non-Snapchatters, and over 90% of Snapchatters say they feel comfortable, happy and connected when using our service.

Key events at Snap include launching Snap Promote, an easy-to-use ad creation interface within the Snapchat app Snap Promote helps an entire new audience of creators and small businesses discover ads platform and grow their reach and followers by creating engaging promotions with just a few clicks. We’ve also seen the introduction of Creator Collab Campaigns, a suite of products making it easier for advertisers to discover and partner with the influential creator community on Snapchat
