NetDespatch have formed a strategic alliance with ChannelAdvisor to offer retailers seamless integration with their chosen postal or parcel carrier.
Through this alliance with NetDespatch, ChannelAdvisor retail customers can despatch parcels systematically to leading carriers, such as Royal Mail, Asendia Yodel, APC Overnight, UKMail, Collect+ and more, using a single, integrated solution, helping retailers to simplify operations. This automated approach is particularly beneficial when changes to carrier requirements are made that would require label or product changes.
At regularly scheduled intervals, ChannelAdvisor scans the retailer’s account for orders that are pending shipment. This in turn triggers a call for each order to the NetDespatch API, which automatically books the order with the selected carrier and prints the label and any customs documentation required in the warehouse. The carrier tracking number is then passed back into ChannelAdvisor, and the order is marked as shipped. ChannelAdvisor automatically notifies the marketplace that the order has been shipped, and the marketplace will notify the retailer’s customer.
“By forming a strategic alliance with NetDespatch we have automated what can be a highly labour-intensive process,” said Hakan Thyr, ChannelAdvisor’s strategic partnerships director. “As a result, the alliance will help reduce the time spent on administrative shipping tasks and offer retailers near-real-time parcel despatch instead“.
“NetDespatch has automated our entire e-commerce fulfilment process from initial order placement to integration with Royal Mail and production of the correct label; leaving me free to focus on more strategic aspects of the business,” explained June Mayle, director of equine outfitter, Jodshop. “Since working with NetDespatch and ChannelAdvisor, I can honestly say that the time I spend processing orders has been halved”.
NetDespatch don’t charge retailers for their software, NetDespatch works in partnership with most postal and parcel carriers with all costs met by the carriers. That means if you’re already using ChannelAdvisor (or any other NetDespatch partners) you can use their technology for free!
