With eBay celebrating its 20th birthday on September 3rd, Irish courier SnapParcel felt it fitting to create a historical infographic on the e-commerce giant.
The infographic contains statistics on the history of eBay, as well as some of the most expensive items purchased on the site in the last 20 years right up to the present day with a look at eBay’s strategy under new CEO David Wenig, particularly after the spin-off of PayPal.

Interesting stuff, but am I the only one frustrated that the line doesn’t represent the chronology of time, and instead it’s left to right on each row?
apparently since john took over, he sold skype then sat back down for 6 years until he left.
and with ebay selling $2.8billion worth of advertising every year….
are they saying their advertising is completely useless, or that they’ve driven at least $28billion off-site through effective advertising?
(assuming nobody’s spending more than 10% of their income on advertising)
