Since Royal Mail announced the move to the new 2D barcoded label NetDespatch has been working closely with hundreds of retailers to help them find the best solutions for their business.

We know that different businesses work in many different ways and each needs a quick, simple, flexible solution to meet the deadline of October 2015 for producing the Royal Mail 2D barcoded labels, which is why we asked NetDespatch to tell us how they can help:

The simple way to integrate your Marketplace with Royal Mail and produce the new 2D barcoded label

NetDespatch is an approved third party shipping and integration solutions provider for Royal Mail domestic and international products. Because we are retained by Royal Mail, we can provide our consultancy, integration and cloud-based shipping services free of charge to retailers. We were the first Royal Mail partner to deploy the 2D barcoded label and since then have been helping retailers already using our platform, as well as those coming on-board, to move to the new label.

This is an outline of some of the flexible integration options we provide to retailers using our platform to integrate with marketplaces like eBay and Amazon.

Basic Integration

NetDespatch’s import wizard allows you to map files downloaded from your marketplace and have them instantly uploaded to the NetDespatch servers. You can then print the correct shipping labels, individually, or as a batch. When you have finished for the day, just one click produces your Sales Order Summary and automatically updates OBA (Online Billing Account). You or your customer service staff can then view despatched items and allow your customers to track them online.

Our Retail Solutions team are on hand to help with the file mapping and our Support team can help if there are ever any problems and, as with all of our solutions, these resources are provided free of charge to you.

Ultimo Electronics are an example of a retailer who has taken advantage of this type of solution. Read their full case study here.

Our carrier, Royal Mail, advised us to implement NetDespatch because we needed to move to a more efficient method of order fulfilment and despatch. Implementation of NetDespatch was trouble free, it didn’t cost us anything, and there were no issues at all” said Josh Hannan, Director, Ultimo Electronics.

The new operation was implemented in April 2015, and Ultimo has already seen a reduction of around 20 hours a month in its order fulfilment process.

Automated integration options

For those who want to avoid dealing with downloading files from marketplaces altogether and completely automate and integrate your processes, we work with numerous ecommerce solutions providers who cater for online sellers of all sizes and allow them to offer all the benefits of our solution but with the added bonus of offering full marketplace integrations, ZenStores, SellerDynamics and ChannelAdvisor are just some of the systems we work with to offer a complete marketplace solution to retailers.

ShuWish saves hours in order processing time through a full ecommerce system integration solution. Read their full case study here.

NetDespatch is most definitely a much quicker system, 100% of our orders are placed online, and with NetDespatch it’s just one button to click and the job is done. I must say, I am really happy with the support we’ve had from NetDespatch. The support team has always been very helpful, addressing queries and resolving issues as soon as they crop up.” said Martin Banak, ShuWish IT Manager.

If you’re interested in understanding more about NetDespatch and how we can help make producing the new Royal Mail 2D barcoded labels easier for you, even if they are part of an integrated invoice, please contact Netdespatch who are ready to assist – their services are free to all retailers, large or small.

  1. Just to re-iterate, it is not compulsory to change by October 2015. This is Royal Mail goal, not compulsory. Royal Mail have told me I don’t have to move to DMO if I don’t want to.

A key question is how soon RM will start to use their barcode to provide cheaper tracking or improve their performance (which In my experience is good anyway).
