eBay have announced they’ll be spreading the Black Friday shopping fever with eight days of deals running from Monday the 23rd of November until Cyber Monday, the 30th of November. Watch out for new offers going live at 8am every morning.

eBay are also predicting that nine million Brits will visit eBay UK on Black Friday with an unprecedented 25 items expected to sell every single second of the day.

If last year is anything to go by you’ll need to be fast as the best deals sell out quickly. Two thirds of of buyers are likely to be shopping for Black Friday deals via mobile devices, so whether they’re on their daily commute to work, waiting at the school gates or surfing from their couch they’ll be online grabbing the bargains.

Research from eBay has also revealed insight into the way Brits will shop this holiday season*:

Kids come first

Across the nation, Brits are planning on spending more on gifts for their children than anyone else this Christmas, with partners coming in second and parents third

Beds and sofa’s top shopping locations

When it comes to inspiration most Brits admit that their bed is the perfect place to dream up their Christmas shopping lists. Mobile shoppers also revealed that they would most likely purchase from the comfort of their living room sofa!

2015 Christmas gift budgets

The average shopper will part with a total of £208.94 in gifts, with women acknowledging that they spend more than their male counterparts. 78% of the fairer sex also admitted to leading the Christmas shopping for their household this year. Nearly half of women surveyed anonymously confessed to keeping a gift they had originally purchased for someone else!

Are people living in London Scrooges?

There’s also a regional split on Christmas spend. London residents will spend the least on presents (£181.22) in comparison to major regional cities. Liverpudlians are set to spend more on festive goodies than any other city in the UK – an average of £239.30 in 2015

  1. I think I’m OK for Superdry t-shirts or some rubbish pants, plus I don’t need a new juicer. I haven’t got time to play the latest X-box game as I am too busy dealing with changes on ebay to have time to myself.

Ebay deals are so dull! Everytime I look on my app for the deals it’s just all the same old toot.

    Time for something new please.

  2. Babz disappeared, so juicers are on no longer available.

Prob cause most of them were junk and they didnt want to refund everyone.

  3. How about ebay give us 8 days of equal visibility across the board to start with – the recent free auction promos ended with very few page views never mind sales, for stuff priced at 10% of what it usually sells for ( looking at prices in completed listings).
They could follow that up by giving UK sellers similar promos to those in the states, where they’re now offering somewhere between 800 and 10,000 free listings per month for the next 4 months.
Some USA sellers are then able to flood the listings at 99cents(65p) minimum fixed price, compared to our 99p minimum – thankfully I’m in a category with no Chinese sellers, but it’s hardly a level playing field at the bottom end, when they promote international trade but allow such a wide variation in minimum prices between different sites who are often competing for the same buyers.

  4. Does anyone get that ‘items we think will inspire you’ email from eBay? It cracks me up everytime with what they come up with. I don’t think I’ve ever shown an interest in dresses being a 33 year old man.

  5. I was trying to edit my profile picture and it kept saying I didn’t exist. Now I get a ‘MyEbay.BIZ.QUERY_UNKOWN_ERROR’ and other server errors. Ongoing problems at eBay.
