McLaren Racing has announced eBay as an Official Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team on a multi-year partnership. The partnership will see eBay branding feature on the race cars of McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for four races across the 2024 season – starting with the Miami Grand Prix this week. eBay branding will also be present at the British, United States and Las Vegas grands prix.
This is a big deal for two reasons – firstly a lot of F1 fans are fanatical about their own cars and eBay parts and accessories is the place for them to go. It’s a category we hear has seen 10% growth. Secondly, it’s a marriage made in heaven – so many of the features of modern cars from flappy paddle gear changes to turbo chargers and even bolt on rear view mirrors all come from F1!
Auto parts are such an important sector and with such different requirements to any other category, that specialist multichannel partners exist to help brands and retailers sell on eBay and other marketplace (but eBay is the big one!) – Ecommotors, Emotiv, or Autofixa, are the companies to speak to if you’re in the autoparts industry and want to scale on eBay.
