Royal Mail is opening ten temporary parcel sort centres for the Christmas period. The parcel sort centres are being set up to sort a significant proportion of the seasonal parcels Royal Mail handles before they are delivered to the door by Royal Mail’s postmen and women.
The centres are being set up for the fifth consecutive year and the use of additional temporary parcel sort centres is now an integral part of Royal Mail’s commitment in additional resources at Christmas.
The temporary parcel sort centres will be located in Bathgate in West Lothian, Bradford, Leyland in Lancashire, Newport in South Wales, Swindon, Greenford, Peterborough, Wolverhampton, Bletchley in Milton Keynes and Heathrow for international parcels and cards. The centres will open on a phased basis from today.
