Amazon Pay Monthly offers buyers credit on items over £400

Amazon UK is offering buyers credit to pay for their their purchases over £400.

Billed as Amazon Pay Monthly, buyers are subject to a credit check and the deal is provided by Hitachi Personal Finance. A decision is promised within a minute.

Check out the official page here. As they say:

“Pay Monthly is a programme which offers loans to pay for eligible orders on Amazon.co.uk, which are then repaid in instalments. Amazon acts as a credit intermediary and credit is provided and administered by Hitachi Personal Finance. Hitachi Personal Finance is a trading division of Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.”

Of course, Amazon itself already offers loans to sellers based on performance but this scheme for buyers is new. It’s not new, plenty of other retailers offer such schemes, but it’s good news for sellers of higher value items nonetheless.
