11 Top Tips for Valentines Day marketing for small retailers

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, Brightpearl surveyed over 100 independent retailers, asking for their advice and tips about how to maximise sales for the most romantic day of the year. They’ve pulled the best tips together into an infographic.

There are some stand out tips with the top one being don’t try to shoehorn your totally irrelevant products into a valentines promotion makes a lot of sense. It’s unlikely that the love of your life will appreciate DIY tools so there’s no point promoting them.

The tip I really is the retailer who already has red mailing bags in stock to ship products around Valentines day. Sure it’s an “after the event” promotion, but you’re definitely going to remember that retailer when their package arrives.

Another great tip is to send your best customers a hand written Valentines card. Let them know you appreciate their business and that they keep returning to shop with you.
