Amazon launches YouTube competitor Amazon Video Direct

Amazon is taking on Google-owned Youtube with their new product Amazon Video Direct.

It’s a new idea that allows people to upload video to their site. And also make a bit of cash dependent on views.

Publishers can choose to earn royalties based on hours streamed by Prime members, a revenue share on rentals, purchases, monthly subscriptions, or ad impressions—or any combination of the above and there’s international reach too: the US, Germany, Austria, UK and Japan are all supported on Amazon devices like Fire TV, phones, tablets, game consoles, Smart TVs and the web.

Give us a shout if you’re going to take advantage of the new system.

And Amazon is looking to make it worth content producers’ efforts even more worthwhile with an additional bonus.

As they say: “Amazon will distribute a share of $1,000,000 per month as a bonus to the Top 100 titles included with Prime through Amazon Video Direct. This bonus—based on global customer engagement—is incremental to revenue earned from hours streamed, rentals, purchases, monthly subscriptions, and ad impressions. All of your titles included with Prime are automatically eligible.”
