They are not saying it explicitly, but Argos has a rather clever promo going on on 12th July, which coincidentally is Amazon Prime Day.
Argos is promising free same-day delivery on items ordered before 6pm. And as they pointedly note (see the grab below) there is no subscription required, unlike with Amazon Prime. Argos is also offering a slate of discounts on the 12th.
This is a savvy response from Argos, and shows that they understand the significance of Prime day, in a way that isn’t obvious from other retailers. It also underlines the ways that Amazon itself is driving retail trends.
