Two separate reports, from both sides of the Atlantic, show pundits reporting good news for online retailers and marketplace sellers: the second quarter eccomerce and online retailing sector 2016 saw strong growth in the UK and US.
The US Department of Commerce Department reported that what it calls “nonstore sales” reached $46.91 billion in June 2016 and that’s a 14.2% increase compared with June 2015. And when you look at their similar predictions that’s the biggest monthly YoY increase so far this year for any month.
And when it comes to British sales, IMRG reports bullish sales as well: “UK e-retail sales grew 16.5% year-on-year in June, resulting in overall annual growth during the second quarter reaching 14.3%.”
All of these numbers were recorded and compiled preceding the Brexit vote so it will be interesting to wait and see. But Tamebay’s advice is to carry on regardless.
