Linnworks announce Etsy marketplace beta launch

No primary category set

etsy-featToday at Linnworks‘ fourth annual Linn Academy, it was announced that next week they will launch support for the Etsy marketplace in beta.

Etsy is a marketplace where merchants largely sell what they make or curate, you’ll find handmade items, vintage goods and craft supplies you can’t find anywhere else. Don’t be fooled into thinking that Etsy is a small marketplace though, they have 1.6 million active sellers, 25 million active buyers and in 2015 had annual gross merchandise sales tallying $2.39B.

We’ll bring you more news of Linnworks’ Etsy support as soon as the official announcement comes after the weekend. There aren’t too many multichannel solutions with Etsy support though so it’s an interesting move by Linnworks and one that’s sure to make them attractive to merchants who already trade on Etsy or would if only there was a robust multichannel solution available with Etsy support.

  1. I sell on eBay, Amazon & Etsy. I spent a lot of time and quite a bit of money on Linnworks, but it never worked for me – tried various things. A painful time.

In the end I felt that my business was too small and my products too individual to make it work. So Etsy seems a strange move for the company. Craft sellers making unique items?

Linnworks are a friendly lot and they offer a good service if you have the right sort of business. Good luck to any who try it.

  2. Hi guys,

If you mentioned this to me a year or two ago, I would have thought it would have been a niche base for the typical multichannel seller.

But both changes with Etsy (going public) and Linnworks introducing their .NET version has led this to be an amazing integration.

Even though Etsy is typically still the “hand crafted” marketplace, there are also a lot of sellers now listing typically mass produced items with options & customisation.

How Linnworks fits in there is that yes, it typically would work very well for the mass produced sellers but… with the introduction to their new version, it allows more flexibility for the true hand crafted sellers in the forms of apps, the rules engine and the interface.

I think all it is missing for these bespoke sellers is a cost of builds app, but I am sure someone will be making one.

Overall I am very excited about this integration and have a handful of clients who can’t wait!

    All the best,

    Charlie McBroom

  3. Though some says that its a good place for getting handmade items, few of my friends who have been using both ebay and etsy for selling, says there is no much difference in selling in both platforms. Is that true?
