Amazon announce 100k new jobs in US

Amazon have announced a massive expansion to their North American workforce with plans to take on an additional 100,000 employees in the next 18 months.

100,000 jobs is a big number in anyone’s book, but what makes it incredible is that Amazon only employ 180,000 currently so their planning to expand by more than 50% of their existing number of employees and will end up with a workforce numbering 280,000. This number of new employees only means one thing, Amazon is planning on even more massive expansion for 2017 and leading into 2018. Watch this space and get your stock listed on the marketplace.

And what will these 100,000 new workers be doing? Amazon say “These new job opportunities are for people all across the country and with all types of experience, education and skill levels, from engineers and software developers to those seeking entry-level positions and on-the-job training. Many of the roles will be in new fulfillment centers”.

These are proper jobs too and come with competitive pay, health insurance, disability insurance, retirement savings plans and company stock.

Amazon boss Jeff Bezos hasn’t been on particularly good terms with the incoming President Trump, who has accused him of avoiding tax amongst other insults. It probably didn’t help that Bezos offered to fire him into space on one of his Blue Origin rockets. This might get Bezos back in Trump’s good books though as the President Elect has stated that he will be “The greatest jobs producer that God ever created”.

If you’re interested in jobs at Amazon they have vacancies in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Spain.

  1. Vast majority of these jobs will be minimum wage dross Jobs that give their employees barely enough to survive on whilst being treated like modern day slaves.
As far as Trump goes i am not too sure he won’t be the best thing for a long time for real jobs. The world needs to reset, consume less but better quality products produced by their own people who are paid a decent wage.
China needs the wind taking out of its sails before it is too late.

To be honest i’m sick of countries benefitting from endemic breeding at the expense of developed countries. Hopefully May will follow suit but I see it more likely she will become China’s lapdog and we will see mass immigration from China, India and Pakistan.
