Bigcommerce has confirmed that Amazon Pay is now available to all of its merchant clients located in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The development will mean sellers using the ecommerce platform to power their online shop can help shoppers to check out more quickly and using details they have already saved with Amazon.
Because BigCommerce has been named a “Premier Partner”, its merchants can integrate Amazon Pay as part of their online checkouts in a matter of minutes.
Patrick Gauthier, VP of Amazon Pay says: “BigCommerce shares our commitment to helping retailers grow sales and attract new customers. Through this integration, BigCommerce merchants can easily integrate Amazon Pay and reach Amazon customers who have come to value a personalized, trusted and familiar buying experience.”
Amazon Pay is enjoying huge success. 33 million people now use Amazon Payments off Amazon and obviously all the many millions of users on Amazon use it too. And that raises the question as to whether Amazon Pay may already be bigger than PayPal in terms of TPV (total payment volume). And with Amazon steaming ahead to make Amazon Pay a big payment service available off-Amazon, it does make ebay’s decision to spin off PayPal even more puzzling in retrospect.
