Etsy start suspending listings unless you use Etsy Payments

As of the 1st of June, Etsy have started a wholesale suspension of seller’s listings if they’ve not migrated to us Etsy Payments. Originally the date to set up Etsy Payments was the 17th of May, but Etsy extended the dealine to the 31st of May before they started suspending listings.

Beginning today, we are suspending sellers’ listings if they haven’t added Etsy Payments. With thousands of sellers and listings to suspend, it may take our system a few days to process. If you see that your listings are suspended and you believe that they shouldn’t be, please contact us as soon as possible: www.etsy.com/help/contact

In the past Etsy allowed you to add your own PayPal account or other payment methods. Now they require all payments, including PayPal, to go through their own checkout. The idea is to give a consistent buying experience and ensure that the same range of payment options are always available. The downside is that you’ll be paying Etsy payment transaction fees (currently 4% + £0.20 per transaction in the UK) on top of your Etsy selling fees.

If you’ve not seen any sales on Etsy over the weekend, check to make sure that your listings haven’t been suspended.
