Belgium is likely to mark 2017 as its first ever €10bn ecommerce years after strong growth in online shopping during the first half of the year. This is according to BECommerce the Belgium Ecommerce Association. They’re findings are summarised in the infographic below.
What’s perhaps particularly interesting is that not only are there more shoppers buying online in Belgium, but they’re buying more on every online shopping foray. In the first half of 2017, 7.9 million Belgians collectively bought 42.3 million products. Total online sales increased with 10% during this period whilst the total number of online shoppers grew just 10%. Not only are they buying more than in 2016 but they’re buying more per basket with an average €118 per shop.
