Amazon’s antipodean expansion continues apace, with the news that Amazon Music Unlimited will be available in Australia and New Zealand from February 1st 2018. Amazon Australia launched a dedicated marketplace site in December 2017.

And additionally, to help subscribers listen to all that music, customers in Australia can preorder an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, or Echo Plus at www.amazon.com.au/echo starting today. And Australians and New Zealanders will also be able to purchase devices at select major retailers in early February.
Amazon Music Unlimited will be available through three monthly plan options: the Echo Plan, offering full access to Amazon Music Unlimited at a of $4.99AUD/month on a single Echo, Echo Dot or Echo Plus; the Individual Plan at $11.99AUD/month; or the Family Plan, coming soon, which will allow up to six members of a household to share a subscription for just $17.99AUD/month.
One other aspect of this launch is related to the extra value it adds to an Amazon Prime subscription that will be coming to Amazon Australia at some point early in 2018. And` all told, it looks like Amazon really is serious about cracking not just New Zealand, but more specifically, Australia in its global ambitions.
