Woocommerce 3.3.0 issues mean it has been withdrawn from WordPress

Problems with Woocommerce release 3.3.0 mean that it has been removed from WordPress in a safety measure to protect sellers and buyers. Some compatibility issues have meant that themes haven’t been working properly and, as these are resolved, it’s no longer available to install. You can read the full statement here.

“As you may have seen, 3.3.0 was removed from WordPress.org soon after release on Wednesday; this was to give the team time to look deeper into some theme conflicts being reported and to avoid more users running into the same issues. The severity of the issue was relatively low, however, the volume of users running the impacted themes was potentially high, so we chose to take this safer approach.

The issue affected themes with template overrides from 3.2.x which hadn’t been made compatible with 3.3. In general, we recommend that themes use hooks instead of template overrides. Themes such as Storefront (which does not use template overrides) were compatible at launch.” If you think you may have been impacted they also suggest that you take a look at their forums where fellow users have been sharing their experiences.

Woocommerce is used by many online retailers to power their online shop. Are you one of them and have you been impacted by this problem?

  1. Ooops…

Yes it all went wrong, installed the updated on the first day and found that the Divi theme was not compatible.

Re loaded the back-up and all was good again.

  2. It kind of make sense as I also experienced some of the plugins started to break , especially the cart functionality.
