Amazon Selling Fees

Amazon category fees in Australia are more attractive than in the UK. Many of the percentages are lower although there is the odd category where fees are higher to sell in Australia (e.g. Consumer Electronics 9% instead of 7% in the UK). For those used to selling at 15%, 20% or 45% selling fees in the UK, you’ll be pleased to hear that fees in Australia vary from 6% for computers up to a maximum of 12% in the most expensive categories.

Gated Categories

Amazon hate the term ‘Gated Categories’, but we know that’s the term merchants use for categories where Amazon insist on them getting ‘prior approval’ before listing inventory on the marketplace.

The only fully gated category on Amazon Australia is Video, DVD & Blu-Ray.

Baby, Beauty, Health and Personal Care, Home, Outdoors, Sports, and Toys & Games are categories where certain product types require prior approval to list.

Minimum Product Data Required by Amazon Australia

Merchants listing on any other Amazon marketplace around the world will have already have the product data needed to list on Amazon Australia. All you’ll need to is set your price in Australian Dollars.

  • EAN, UPC, or ISBN code
  • Product title
