Tamebay says a fond farewell to eBay Radio live on air

eBay Radio is to end with a live broadcast from the eBay Open this week and then it’s a fond farewell to eBay Radio and Lee who has dedicated the past 15 years powering eBay Radio along with her husband John, the engineer for the biweekly show. Lee is hanging up her mike and taking a long overdue retirement and agreed to stay until eBay Open for one last blast across the airwaves.

eBay Radio is the longest broadcasting internet radio station and Lee and John’s Voice Marketing Radio business is what’s made the 15 year run possible.

Having been invited to take part in the show hundreds of times over the years, I was honoured to be invited to be a guest speaker on eBay Radio’s final regular broadcast on Tuesday last week. As always, there’s a lot going on at eBay so we focused on Image Search which has recently rolled out on the eBay Mobile App in the UK. There was also time to say farewell to Lee live on air as she winds down to a well deserved retirement and some relaxation.

eBay Radio may be drawing to a close, but Lee’s legacy is not going to end. Griff, one of eBay‘s longest serving employees and their first customer support agent, who served as the Dean of eBay Education for over a decade and the host of eBay Radio ever since its debut in 2003, has confirmed that a new downloadable pre-recorded podcast format with a new community page, a chat area and the ever popular call in section will continue. In the short term, the podcast will be called eBay Radio, although the name may change in the future and more details will be published very soon.

If you’re going to eBay Open this week, make sure you find Griff, the Host of eBay Radio for a final chat before he hangs up his microphone at the end of the final live broadcast. Griff is not only massively knowledgeable about eBay but he’s also the biggest seller advocate with the ear of the eBay Seller Experience team as well as being an active seller himself on eBay. There is very little Griff doesn’t know about eBay and he has the longest corporate memory of the companys’ history.

And of course find Lee and John to say a final goodbye and wish them the very very best in their retirement.

Farewell eBay Radio, it’s been a blast!
