This week a number of new ecommerce features for the Weebly mobile app have launched. Weebly is a service that provides customers with tools to easily build a professional website or online store.

Specifically the new features focus on the seller side of the app and make it much easier for merchants to administer their Weebly shop using mobile devices. You can read the full information here. Usage of the weebly app has increased in the last year. There has been a 75% increase in people using the mobile app to manage their orders and a 120% increase in online sellers managing their products.

They say of the updates:

We’ve been hard at work reinventing our eCommerce platform and ensuring that crucial back office tasks can also be accomplished with the swipe or tap of your thumb on mobile. Our goal is for today’s small business owner to not only have unprecedented freedom, but also the effortless control to never miss a sale because they stepped away from their laptop to live a little.

The new features include the ability to create, purchase, print and refund shipping labels using the app. Merchants can also deal quickly with customer enquiries via Facebook messenger, approve new customer reviews and create new marketing campaigns features. And now sellers can also fully edit a weebly store including amending all product listings, alter pricing and edit photos.

The payments firm Square acquired Weebly earlier in the year. We wrote about that here. Square paid a mix of cash and stock valued at approximately $365 million, included Square restricted stock units for the founders and employees that will vest over four years.

They say that 45 million people around the world have already started a site on Weebly and those sites receive over 325 million unique visitors each month. The service is offered in 15 languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Polish, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Turkish.
