A new Amazon fulfilment centre will be opening in California and they say that the new facility in Beaumont will create more than 1000 full-time jobs. This site will join Amazon’s other Inland Empire fulfilment facilities in Eastvale, Moreno Valley, Redlands, Rialto, Riverside and San Bernardino, where the company launched its first California Amazon fulfilment centre in 2012. The new facility will be a 640,000-square-foot FC.
If you’re not familiar with the term the Inland Empire (IE), it is a metropolitan area and region in Southern California east of the city of Los Angeles. The term may be specifically used to refer to the cities of western Riverside County and southwestern San Bernardino County.
The Inland Empire has been a great place to do business: serve customers, create jobs, and raise the bar on innovative technologies.Since we started fulfilling customer orders six years ago in San Bernardino, we’ve been able to build up an amazing team of dedicated associates who now earn at least $15 an hour and receive industry-leading benefits on their first day of employment. We’re excited to now be part of the Beaumont community and grow our team there.
– Mark Stewart, Vice President of North America Operations, Amazon
