On Wednesday this week we held the first Tamebay Editor’s webinar of the year. For those that missed it the replay is now available on Tamebay TV.
January Tamebay Editor’s Webinar
What does the January Tamebay Editor’s Webinar discuss?
In the Tamebay Editor’s webinar we discussed how virtual Assistants are starting to change the way we shop and, somewhat surprisingly, discovered that Google Home is actually being used more often for commerce transactions than Amazon Alexa. With Amazon Alexa on Amazon’s range of Echo devices, one might expect them to have the edge in voice assisted ecommerce but it’s Google that’s currently winning.
Ecommerce is all about search so naturally we looked at the development to search with a particular focus on Image search. Comparing Google image search results with your own product listings can be very revealing as, if you’re not producing image shots in the format favoured by search engines, your visibility can be reduced to zero.
Search on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy was the next topic and the impact of paid search on eBay and Amazon a key trend to watch for 2019. Sellers on both marketplaces are being forced into paying for eBay Promoted listings or Amazon Sponsored Products as today it’s impossible to gain the first position in search results from organic marketplace SEO efforts. If you don’t pay to play then you’re losing sales.
Finally we looked at how to protect your business in the year ahead, both from the ever increasing rise in Amazon Private Label and Amazon Exclusive brands as well as the influx of Chinese sellers on marketplaces.
This webinar was such as success that we will be holding a monthly Tamebay Editor’s Webinar throughout the course of 2019. These webinar will focus on the interesting news from the past month with as many tips and strategies of how to work with them as we can fit in. We’ll be announcing the date for the February webinar shortly as well as the key topics that we’ll be looking at.
We’re also open to interesting businesses who have something to share participating throughout the year, so if your a supplier with a new product release or an insightful view of changes in marketplace trading we’d love to hear from you. We may even in some of webinars broadcast live from your premises. Get in touch at [email protected] if you’d like to be considered.
