Cas Paton, founder of OnBuy, has reached the finals of the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the ‘Disruptor of the Year’ category for the South West region.
The influential and highly respected Disruptor of the Year Award recognises the hard work that purpose-driven entrepreneurs deliver to establish and grow their businesses beyond many of their peers, significantly disrupting the status quo.
Having launched in 2016, OnBuy found a gap in the market for online retailers by offering a fair and professional platform that does not compete with its sellers. OnBuy lists millions of products online from reputable sellers and across thousands of categories, and has now set its sights on securing funding to launch over 100 dedicated major country sites within the next two years.
“OnBuy is changing how the world looks at ecommerce by finding gaps in existing business models and treating sellers fairly and transparently. We are fair with sellers, so that sellers can offer more for buyers.
I am so proud to be recognised as an innovative and ambitious entrepreneur, and that OnBuy is on the way to becoming a global top 10 marketplace. I firmly believe that we will be there within the next three years.”
– Cas Paton, founder, OnBuy
Cas was born with an entrepreneurial flair and an inherent ambition to achieve. By the age of just 25, Cas had set up a successful ecommerce consultancy business and within the space of just a few years, was consulting technical solutions for NATO and the NHS. OnBuy followed in 2016 to provide a level playing field for all.
The South West regional final takes place on Thursday the 24th of October in Exeter. The regional winner will then be invited to attend the national final in London on Thursday 21st of November.
