eBay Mandatory Item Specifics for Home & Garden Categories from 10th July

No primary category set

From this Wednesday, the 10th of July, eBay will start requiring you to complete mandatory Item Specifics in three new categories – Bedding, Rugs & Carpets, and Furniture.

Future Item specifics updates Plans

There will be more mandatory Item Specifics coming later in the year – we’re expecting to see them annouced in Electronics categories next.

“Later in the year, we’ll require more item specifics in the Home & Garden, Fashion and Electronics categories. We’ll let you know about these closer to the time and you’ll continue to get at least 8 weeks notice to help you prepare.

Our continued analysis of search filters will determine the item specifics we need you to provide. We know it takes more time to provide detailed information for your listings, but we strongly believe the benefits to you on eBay and beyond are worth the effort. Thanks for your cooperation”

  1. If there was clear evidence of benefits to sellers, then everyone would use them. They’ve fallen back on item specifics because the catalogue was descredited and failed. So it’s back to the future for sellers, dear old inappopriate incomplete misleading item specifics.

Why don’t they get the searches working properly and enable buyers to get onto the site without constant trouble?

And why not sort out the checkout issues which have been a problem for so many years now?

Surely that’s something for Wenig to be getting on with, instead of knocking a golf ball into an upturned paper cup at the top of Ebay towers.

What’s that Mr Wenig, too busy optimizing B2B services, maximising dynamic markets, aggregating robust partnerships and meshing value-added systems. All while job sharing at GM.

  2. Dav,
ebay is everything you say and more,
though were realistic ebays a business whose first responsibility is to make money
    for its share holders
its our choice to use their services were not forced to
