Earlier this week we published a post which touched upon the loneliness many online sellers feel when running their business. This can be especially true if you are sole trader working alone, but even if you are running a large business with employees it can be tough at the top without peers experiencing the same challenges to talk to.
This week Tamebay reader Toby had some apt advice:
“You don’t realise how many little convos you used to have until you have no one to talk to… The courier and postman become like angels that visit to be chat and news of the outside world…
…Get to relevant trade shows and make friends with suppliers and people in the trade. Put a face to the name for them. They probably have hundreds of customers who they have no idea about personally… don’t be one of them, be a face, be a real person, be a friend. These people will be your life blood.”

The next major trade show is the Linn Academy conference which takes place on the 1st of October at the ICC in Birmingham. You’ll meet hundreds (thousands) of fellow sellers who feel the same as you and the information you take away and the buzz from the day will re-energise you with ideas and enthusiasm to grow your business.
