What do you do when most of your orders ship via regular courier but you have the occasional requirement for a pallet delivery – perhaps a bulk order or because you’re shipping your goods to a fulfilment house? The Delivery Group have spotted a gap in the market and in a new partnership with established pallet freight experts Pallet-Track aim to make booking a pallet delivery as easy as booking a normal ad hoc courier.
Pallet freight is a significant growth market, with the Association of Pallet Networks (APN) forecasting the delivery of 28.5 million pallets by its members in 2019, an increase of 6.7% on 2018 figures. Established in 2004, Pallet-Track, based in Wolverhampton-based, has seen a five-fold increase in freight volume in as many years.

It’s possible to book an ad hoc pallet delivery through The Delivery Group, although you’ll have to be set up as a customer if you don’t already use their services. Pallets are electronically scanned and tracked, offering integrity and transparency and range of service options is available, including time-specific delivery.
Pallet delivery pricing is based on delivery zone (country is divided into a zonal map of postcodes), service requirement (next day or economy 2-3 day) and pallet size and weight (quarter, half, full and oversize). Premium time specific options are also available.
If you already have an account set up, the lead time is relatively short, generally there is a mid day cut off for same day pallet delivery booking requests but subject to collection location.
