Notonthehighstreet, the curated online marketplace and home of thoughtful gifts, have appointed Claire Davenport as their new chief executive officer. Barrie Seidenberg, who has led notonthehighstreet as CEO since April 2018, was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year and will now be stepping down in order to focus on her health.
“Barrie has led the transformation of the company over the last 15 months and has significantly increased momentum in the business. Through Barrie’s leadership, the business now has a strong foundation for growth, supported by a skilled leadership team, with experienced additions including a new CTO, CFO and CPO. The board would like to thank Barrie for her expert leadership and we wish her our heartfelt best as she focuses on her health.”
“Barrie has worked closely with the notonthehighstreet team to ensure that there is a smooth transition and we are pleased to have appointed Claire Davenport to take the business on to the next stage of its growth.”
– Darren Shapland, chairman, notonthehighstreet.
Claire Davenport was previously CEO of HelloFresh UK, the country’s largest recipe box company. With an extensive background of successfully scaling businesses and disrupting markets, Claire brings considerable experience to the notonthehighstreet business. She will build on Barrie Seidenberg’s and the management team’s plans as they continue to modernise notonthehighstreet’s technology platform and strengthen the ecommerce foundations of the business.
Claire Davenport will assume the role of CEO on the 27th of August 2019 and Barrie Seidenberg will remain with the business until the end of August 2019.
