SwipBox parcel locker becomes popular choice in Denmark

SwipBox a company that creates convenient solutions for logistics providers have seen a significant increase in the utilization of their parcel lockers in the Danish network since the COVID-19 epidemic. The SwipBox Infinity parcel locker is currently standing out due to its unique screenless design. The locker is solely app operated meaning users do not need to touch anything but their own phone when picking up a parcel, making them not only beneficial for their 24/7 convenience but also for the minimization of risks associated with touching contaminated surfaces.

“One of the features that we are really proud of has just become important, as everyone is doing their best to keep their distance and avoid spreading and getting germs. We designed the parcel lockers without a built-in screen – a feature that allows the end user to control the parcel lockers with their own phones.”
– Allan Kaczmarek, CEO, SwipBox

With retail stores closing people are choosing to do more of their shopping online. In Denmark, this has meant more people are using parcel lockers as their delivery option to the point where parcels being delivered through parcel lockers in the Danish network has been the same as it was in the weeks after Black Friday, which are usually the busiest of the year.

“Locally, we have seen the utilization of the parcel lockers being twice as high as normal in the weeks since the government made regulations due to COVID-19 in Denmark.”
– Allan Kaczmarek, CEO of SwipBox

There are many clear benefits from the use of parcel drop off points such as key-workers being able to use them and their ability to relieve some of the pressures felt by in-demand delivery services, however, with people around the world being asked to stay at home to slow the spread of the virus, could the statistics show that people are venturing out more than they really should be?
