Etsy Christmas Ads will have you crying into your stockpiled toilet roll

Etsy have released three short but powerful Christmas Ads, so you might want to grab some of that toilet roll you’ve been stockpiling before you watch them. Report from AdAge present the adverts which can be watched below.

The Christmas Ads:

Each advert looks at a different family and how they are spending Christmas. One touches on the effects of coronavirus when a couple who can’t see their grandchildren during the holidays are still able to share a beautiful moment over video call where the grandmother receives a personal gift.

The second two are not directly related to coronavirus which I think will be appreciated by those who would rather not face even more reminders of the pandemic. Instead, we have a young girl named Shiori who struggles to find her name on items whilst strangers struggle to pronounce it. In the end, her mother gives her a wonderful personalized necklace.

The third Ad presents a man who is spending Christmas with his boyfriend’s family. Clearly unsure of whether he will be accepted as part of the family he is soon assured when he is gifted a very special Christmas tree decoration depicting him and his boyfriend.

The adverts show how Etsy are using their recently increased marketing investment. Coronavirus has seen the handmade gift marketplace achieve higher than expected growth in Q3 with no signs of stopping.
