Making it easier for merchants selling on Wish to handle shipping, Wish Parcel is a logistics program designed to provide easy, inexpensive, and trustworthy shipping options for anyone shipping packages. Wish Parcel allows you to streamline your shipping needs with access to trusted shipping carriers, discounted shipping rates, and start-to-finish tracking for you to share with your recipients.
At launch, the service partners with United States Postal Service (USPS) to support shipments within the United States. However they are are actively working to expand their partner carrier network and supported originating/destination regions worldwide. It is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses who can take advantage of its partnership with trusted carriers and discounted shipping rates. For example, compared to directly using USPS itself to ship packages, you may save up to 59% (for certain shipping options).
Wish have also announced that merchants with an existing Shopify account can now connect their Shopify store with Wish Parcel, and access USPS and its discounted shipping rates to seamlessly fulfill your Shopify orders within the United States. Even though Wish Parcel is still working to support automatic order importing from some other ecommerce platforms, merchants currently selling on these platforms (for example eBay and Amazon or other webstores) can still leverage Wish Parcel for shipping their orders.
We’re liking Wish Parcel a lot. Whilst there are many shipping consolidator platforms you could use to ship your ecommerce orders, we’ve often said that marketplaces should be using their buying clout to negotiate discounted rates and make them available to everyone including the very smallest of merchants. If you are shipping hundreds of parcels per night you can almost certainly negotiate attractive rates, but for merchants just starting out with a handful of daily shipments it’s not so easy to access attractive rates. That’s where Wish Parcel comes in – regardless of volume you can access the rates they’ve negotiated.
