The eBay Open UK final day included keynotes from eBay execs followed by a multitude of specialist sessions looking at the different verticals and categories sellers use.
Sellers were able to select the session most applicable to them and then came together at the end of the day for a final session with the amazing Mike Adams OBE to learn more about Purple Tuesday and how to make an ecommerce business more accessible for customers with disabilities. The audience greeted the news that eBay will be headline sponsor for Purple Tuesday this year with rapturous applause.
One announcement you’ll want to look out for is the eBay Academy, a new learning centre for eBay sellers. This comes on top of the ProTrader programme which was covered previously during eBay Open UK. eBay are serious about giving sellers the assistance and training needed to help them succeed and if you receive an invitation to either programme our recommendation would be that you sign up straight away.

eBay For Business Awards 2021
eBay Open UK Final Day was closed by UK General Manager Murray Lambell, who then handed over to Gok Wan who hosted the eBay for Business Awards 2021. With 10 categories, there was a whirlwind of trophies as winners were welcomed to the stage and then the audience were able to vote for the overall eBay For Business Award winner.

Been selling on eBay for nearly 20 years and never once have I used a ‘vertical’ whatever that is.
It was an interesting day, I almost missed the ‘car parts and accessorys’ discussion though because the info’ boards there had it listed as ‘P&A Session’
eBay need to stop using internal language on their seller comms but other than that* it was great.
*(there was a glaring error on the food list too but I think I might have been the only one to notice that)
Anyway, it was an interesting day. I collared Murray at lunch and had a very informative chat with him about some of the good points about eBay, and some of the glaring failings that were making it easy for Amazon and other platforms to make mincemeat of them.
To be fair, he’s actually been in touch since so maybe – just maybe – eBay are starting to listen AT LAST
