Update #2 – Tamebay Black Friday Speed Test 2021

The annual Tamebay 2021 Black Friday Speed Test is underway. To test the resilience of deliveries over the Black Friday period, at 9.30am this morning we placed 15 orders split across the largest three UK general marketplaces – Amazon, eBay and OnBuy, and this is Update #2 based the the statuses at 10pm Tuesday.

Update #2 news is that all five purchases from OnBuy have now arrived – the first of the three marketplaces for a complete set of 5 orders to be delivered. However, the parcels were delivered on average 3.6 days early (total of 18 days). This shows that OnBuy sellers were overly cautious in their delivery promises and actually deliver very rapidly, especially considering all shipments were on their ‘Standard (Free)’ service promise.

A bumper set of deliveries turned on on Tuesday so we’ve updated the table below.

From the first 10 deliveries we’re reporting in Update #2, deliveries occured an average of 3.4 days earlier than promised – a massive total so far of 34 days early.

Shipment notifications indicate that more parcels are on the way so look out for further updates before the weekend.
