Amazon offers Brands 20,000 free Transparency codes

Amazon Transparency codes is a product serialisation service that helps identify individual units and proactively prevent counterfeits from reaching customers.

For every product that is newly protected by Transparency before the 31st of December 2022, you can receive one year of Amazon Transparency codes for free.

Transparency is an Amazon Brand Protection programme available for brand owners who want to proactively protect their products from counterfeit. Each unit is labelled with a unique code, which is scanned to verify the unit’s authenticity. Items without a valid code are identified and stopped, so only genuine items reach customers.

Customers can authenticate any Transparency-enabled product, regardless of where they purchased it so this doesn’t just apply to units sold on Amazon, but encompasses units sold on your own website and any other channels you or your retailers trade on. The Transparency app for iOS or Android lets customers scan Amazon Transparency codes on products. Upon scanning, the app will show a green check mark if the code is valid and a red X if it is not.

Free Amazon Transparency codes eligibility

To be eligible for Amazon Transparency codes you need to fulfil the following criteria:

  • You own a brand.
  • Your brand and associated trademarks are registered in Amazon Brand Registry.
  • You have a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), such as a UPC or EAN barcode on your products.
  • You can apply unique Transparency codes on every unit you manufacture.
  • Protect your product before the 31st December 2022
