Etsy want sellers to offer discounts for Labor Day sales

No primary category set

It’s almost time for Labor Day, and with it comes the most popular weekend for grabbing a bargain in the U.S. and Canada. That’s why Etsy are asking sellers to offer discounts on their products for the Labor Day sales. But what’s in it for sellers?

If you want to take part in Etsy’s Labor Day sale event you’ll have to schedule a sale of at least 15% off from August 31-September 4 and then increase your sale to at least 25% off from September 5-6. There are no incentives for sellers to do this and with the minimum sale reduction sitting at 15%, when coupled with Etsy fees it almost makes you wonder if it’s worth it.

The benefit of this sale, as with any sale would be that you have a chance to attract customers to your shop. With the rising cost of living, consumers are taking advantage of sales and this could be the perfect opportunity to get rid of some stock or draw in new customers but the question remains, will customer retention be as straight forward in the current economic climate?

“This year, the Labor Day Sales Event will be exclusive to the Etsy app for buyers in the US and Canada from August 31 to September 6

To participate, schedule a sale of at least 15% off from August 31-September 4 and then increase your sale to at least 25% off from September 5-6 to help attract more shoppers.

To sweeten the deal, you can also set up targeted offers like Thank You coupons, Abandoned cart discounts, and Favorited item discounts.”
