Changes to OnBuy Boost from 23rd August

OnBuy Boost

Sellers have been using OnBuy Boost since 2019, but changes come into effect on the 23rd of August that you’ll want to be aware of.

The fees you pay for OnBuy Boost are used to market your products on paid marketing channels (think Google Adwords). It’ not just added visibility on OnBuy but across the web as a whole. The Boost fee is only applicable when a sale is made directly through a sponsored listing with no additional costs for non-sponsored sales.

Up until now, you could set your Boost rate from 1% to 10%. Charged in addition to OnBuy’s normal selling fees when you make a sale through Boost you got to control how much you wanted to invest in additional visibility. It’s a per listing option, so you can boost some or all of your listings.

OnBuy are now introducing five new levels of Boost:

Boost Level CPA (Cost-Per-Acquisition)
Light 5%
Plus 10%
Pro 15%
Max 20%
Ultra 30%

If you already use Boost OnBuy will automatically move over to the closest option available. Your current Boost settings will determine your new Boost level:

  • If your current Boost level is 1-7%, you’ll move to Boost Light (5%)
  • If your current Boost level is 7.5-10%, you’ll move to Boost Plus (10%)

If you’d like to change your settings before the chante you need to do so before 8am on Wednesday 23rd August 2023, via your Seller Control Panel, the API, or supported integration.

After the launch, you’ll be able to change your Boost settings at any time, as normal. OnBuy note that it may take up to 8 hours for the system to update across all channels.

  1. This is the only website that talks about Onbuy. Must be a few quid changing hands….

  2. Why are comments blocked on the other OnBuy story ‘New OnBuy seller referral incentive scheme’?

Is it because like all OnBuy press releases it claims to be an industry first, when its obviously not, etsy and tiktok both have similar schemes.

Or is it because it makes OnBuy look more and more like Multi Level Marketing scheme than a real marketplace?

    1. It’s the start of censorship on these boards, which seem pretty dead anyhow.

Presumably its because Onbuy asked for them to be blocked lol

My last post on here. Bye !

  3. I think OnBUY is Awsome Place For Sellers , if they could realize the potential of this SYSTEM . The Only Drawback in OnBUY is that entry system for new sellers is very very strict whereas Amazon or other Reknowned French Markets give platform to any Applicant if he meets basic requirements .
