OnBuy ramp up cashback marketing

It’s coming up to a month since OnBuy launched the first marketplace cashback scheme giving up to 7.5% cashback to consumers on every purchase they make. Naturally they’re still heavily promoting cashback and today is no different, as they highlight savings to be made on tech purchases.

From professional cameras, 4K TVs, gaming PCs and smart tablets, customers at OnBuy could expect to see potential savings of over £100 on some of the latest tech. We’ve rounded up some of the biggest savings available right now

What really matters of course, is has it had an impact on your sales. If you sell on OnBuy, have you seen any change in buying behaviour resulting in more transactions on the marketplace?

Admittedly, this is a very difficult question to answer, not only is it August with many consumers on holiday, the inevitable British weather not acting in the manner it’s supposed to, and an unfavourable economic environment where spending patterns are anything other than ordinary. It’s likely some are selling sales across all channels subdued (it’s certainly the case with fashion on the high street!), while others are seeing more buoyant outlooks.

However, if you sell on OnBuy and have seen an uptick in sales that isn’t mirrored on other channels we’d love to hear from you. The real impact is likely to come in Q4 when Christmas spending gets underway as the more consumers spend and the more cashback they accrue, the more they’ll be hooked into buying on OnBuy.

  1. Did they just make those potential savings prices up?

    If you follow the links, some of them are selling for far less than those RRPs on OnBuy and they all had just 1% cashback.

    Eg. the Hisense TV is £599, with 1% cash back making a real potential cash back saving of £5.99 not £54.75.

    Which would be swallowed up by the £14.99 delivery charge, when you could buy it from the same seller on Amazon, for £599 with free delivery, a *real* saving of £9

    1. Onbuy, Tiktok, Metaverse, NFTs.

      3 of those things are dying or already dead, the other one is run by the Chinese Communist Party.
