Iceland joins Morrisons & Coop on Amazon

Iceland joins Morrisons & Coop on Amazon

Iceland is the latest supermarket to appear as a third-party option on Amazon in the UK. It will initially be available in selected postcodes within Greater Manchester, before being expanded to more Amazon Prime members across the UK in the coming months.

Iceland joins joins Morrisons and Co-op to offer Amazon customers an even bigger selection of great value groceries. Customers will have access to thousands of groceries, all offering the incredible value for which Iceland is known and loved. The selection will include Iceland’s own label fresh and frozen items, exclusive brands including Greggs, Heinz, My Protein and TGI Fridays, and many more everyday essentials and family favourites on Amazon – all sourced directly from a local Iceland store.

Teaming up with third-party retailers we know our customers already love gives us the opportunity to offer customers even more choice and delivery options from their product ranges directly from our website.

– Amazon

The news of Iceland joining Amazon comes as they expand Amazon Fresh with a new store opening yesterday, the 12th September in Liverpool Street, London.

Amazon Fresh stores offer a wide selection of products, including Amazon’s private food brand ‘by Amazon’ and its premium grocery range, ‘Our Selection’, which offer hundreds of delicious items. Shoppers will find everyday staples in store from fresh produce, including British meat, poultry, responsibly sourced fish, dairy, fruit and veg, to bakery, freshly prepared meals and more, all at great prices.

The Amazon Fresh Liverpool Street store offers customers a variety of convenient ways to pay. To enter the store, customers simply walk through a non-gated entrance and shop for what they need. At the end of their shopping trip, customers can either scan their in-store code (via the Amazon app) at the exit gate, or pay by tapping their credit or debit card at a chip-and-pin machine.

Customers can also conveniently pick up and return items purchased on Amazon.co.uk from in-store lockers, with just a single QR code.
