eBay Start-Up Award Winner - PreLoved Tech

Following years spent working in the tech industry and witnessing the alarming amount of electronic waste ending up in landfill, PreLoved Tech co-founders, Matt and Nicola, were inspired to do something about this, leading to them winning an eBay for Business Start-Up Award.

The Start-Up Award recognises businesses that have combined the power of imagination, innovation and steely determination to start a successful business, which has also been able to impact the world in a meaningful way.

Their newfound purpose led them to launch TradologyUK, with a mission to make IT recycling accessible to everyone – especially schools and local businesses. However, in 2020, the challenges brought about by the pandemic meant the business was unable to operate as normal.

In response, Matt and Nicola pivoted to launch the online recycling portal: PreLoved Tech – where every piece of technology that’s collected is refurbished and resold, with eBay providing a natural home for this online arm of the business.

Since launching PreLoved Tech, the business has seen phenomenal growth, with plans to expand the team and provide free recycling services to many more schools and businesses. But above all, the efforts of Matt, Nicola and the rest of the team have kept thousands of electronic items out of landfill, single handedly making a monumental contribution towards the circular economy.
