Over the weekend, we’ve heard from sellers that Amazon appear to have switched on Automated Handling Time for their offers. This has led to an immediate impact on their LSR (Late Shipment Report).
The problem appears to be for many, that the Automated Handling Time immediately assumes that you ship same day, seven days a week and for many sellers who fulfil orders themselves this simply isn’t possible – if you don’t have a collection on Saturday and Sunday and if your warehouse isn’t open your LSR is probably already impacted.
Just doing my admin in preparation for Monday – It looks as though “Automated Handling time” was activated on my settings at about 17h00 yesterday.
I’ve not requested this – it seems to have been been activated automatically.
No communication just automatically switched on. I make all my items to order and have a 5 day handling time. I have been pretty quiet last few months so been making things a little quicker. Today noticed most of my items were on a 1 day handling time
Same thing has happened to me – I make handmade items so I have it on 2 days dispatch time so I make them properly and in time to ship. Now I’ve got to rush to make and ship them all today
There are two problems that Amazon sellers need to be aware of
- If Automated Handling Time has been switched on on your account, you will probably find you are shipping orders late and will need to turn the feature off again
- Once defects are registered on your LSR, scores can not be altered/updated, even by Amazon support
Check your Amazon settings immediately to ensure that Automated Handling Time isn’t enabled – the sellers we have spoken to certainly did not request this be activated and had no notification that the setting had been changed.

We switched our automated handling on ourselves then switched it off once we realised that it expected us to despatch until 5pm every day. When we switched it off the settings didn’t take effect and it’s been stuck like this for 3 weeks with no reply whatsoever from support. My account has been in warning since.
Nothing surprises me with Amazon.
I tried to change the title of a listing on Amazon where I created the listing and am the only seller.
3 weeks later Amazon themselves are still investigating!
They never cease to amaze me!
