InPost and TfGM parcel locker partnership

InPost have a new partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to further their growth in the UK.

With 99 Metrolink stops, TfGM is the second largest local transport network in the UK after the London Underground, with over 5.6 million journeys made across the network each day. The partnership, which supports TfGM’s green initiative to reduce carbon output, will see up to 28 parcel lockers rolled out across the Greater Manchester area by the end of the year, with 13 already installed and more planned for 2023.

The installation of InPost’s parcel lockers at bus and Metrolink stations across Greater Manchester will help to reinforce these locations as important hubs for the local community and those using public transport. Available 24/7, the new lockers will provide a genuinely convenient and easily accessible way for people to pick up or return parcels quickly and easily as part of their daily commute across the TfGM network.

This gives control back to consumers, saving them both time and hassle by putting an end to long queues on lunch breaks, waiting to return and send parcels. With Christmas rapidly approaching, the new partnership is set to bring extra convenience to commuters over the party season.

We’re rapidly growing our network of 4,000+ parcel lockers in the UK and the partnership with TfGM marks another significant milestone for our business. It’s also an important step towards our goal of making parcel collections and returns fuss-free for everyone. The new lockers will expand the breadth of parcel and post services available in the Greater Manchester area, meaning that busy commuters can avoid waiting in for parcel deliveries and skip the queues when it comes to making returns. Instead, they can use our lockers while on the go.

– Michael Rouse, CEO of InPost International

The rollout of InPost Lockers at Metrolink stops and interchanges across Greater Manchester provides customers with a quick and easy way to collect and return parcels as part of their daily commute or journey across the network. TfGM has adopted an approach to develop new sustainable revenue streams through commercial partnerships for reinvestment into transport services. By creating partnerships like this one, we’re on our way to creating a truly integrated transport that supports multi-modal journeys and puts customer convenience at the heart of what we do.

– Mike Mellor, Head of Commercial, TfGM

InPost has over 4,000 lockers spread across the UK that can be found at convenience boosting locations such as train stations, supermarkets, retail parks and petrol forecourts.
