eBay have at long last listened to sellers requests and added in new shipping options to allow for use of various courier companies.
In the past it’s often been a bone of contention that only ParcelForce was available, with the remaining option to cover all other courier companies as “Other Courier”. This meant buyers had no indication of the delivery time (24hour, 48hour, longer) and sellers using alternative carriers were excluded from promotions such as Get It Fast.
Now the new options for “Other 24 Hour Courier” and “Other 48 Hour Courier” give better guidance to buyers and should enable more sellers to participate in Get It Fast.
Great news for both buyers and sellers alike, sadly the options don’t appear in the latest TurboLister update but should be added in the very near future.

Thats great! All we need now is the ability to ensure buyers from Channel Islands, NI & Highlands & Islands don’t misunderstand “UK Mainland” postage 🙂
Can we have the option to force Italian buyers to pay for recorded delivery as well please? 🙄
Ahem… Jade the Highlands are part of the “UK Mainland” :razz
Personally I don’t treat any part of the UK differently for carriage and that includes Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland, they all pay the same although it may take them longer to get their goods due to the randomness of boat schedules in adverse weather conditions.
However I strongly agree that the Channel Islands should be treated seperately as they’re not even in the EU let alone the UK. They’re treated differently for both tax purposes and although Royal Mail deliver at UK rates couriers consider them an International destination. For eBay to lump them in with standard UK carriage rates is ludicrous, might as well treat the US as part of the UK, bout time it was fixed.
But Mountie, just because *you personally* don’t treat them any different, doesn’t mean that eBay shouldn’t acknowledge that some couriers *do* treat them as different, and give sellers the facility to price differently? I mean, saying “Highlands @ same price as everywhere else” would give you a big advantage wouldn’t it, so you should be in favour 😉
I think there’s a big need for MUCH more flexibility in setting postage prices tbh. For example, I can set a specific price for Ireland, Germany or France, but not for Italy, Spain or the Netherlands. Why on earth not? They need to add in customisable shipping fields IMHO.
eBay have now officially announced the new postage options, and even better they’ve added them to TurboLister 🙂
