The high street is now selling on eBay Outlet

No primary category set

eBay has launched ““, similar to eBay Markenshops on the German Site. Designed to offer branded goods from top retailers selling directly on eBay all products will be top quality items with up to 70% off with fast delivery.
eBayoutletIt should come as no surprise that eBay are courting the main stream retailers, the big question is how this will affect existing sellers.

If your proposition has been to source and sell surplus or end of line branded goods it’s probably time to start diversifying if you haven’t already and looking at different sources. Competing directly with the retailers themselves is going to be a challenge, especially if they’re offering deep discounts to liquidate their excess inventory.

For buyers it should be good news, quality goods direct from the likes of JBSports, Littlewoods, Cloggs, Schuh, Dyson and Morphy Richards at rock bottom prices should attract interest. The good news for independent merchants on eBay is that the more buyers visit eBay and make purchases the more likely they are to browse the rest of the site when eBay Outlet doesn’t have the products that they’re looking for.
